excited: new pots on their way...

Now I am extremly excited. Mark from Walsall Studio Ceramics sent me a mail earlyer this day with a picture of two pots that I ordered.
The order sounds like this:

Shohin Deep Oval SH-005 in Slate Grey
Handmade Round Pot (profile as SH-001) Speckle Blue

Quote: Mark: "The exact internal size of the round handmade pot is 20cm x 20cm x 3cm (outside height including feet is 4.2cm)."

I really looking forward to actually have them in my hands, but I cannot wait until the spring, when its repotting time.

birch update

Since May I have done some cutting, but no pruing and no work at all on this birch. It got a new pot, and some moss to prevent dehydration. And it works...The pot i choose for this pirch is the perfect size. And it will be repotted in may next year. But in the same pot.

needed some new trees

I just needed some more trees to keep my fingers busy. I thought I had so few. So I went to plantasjen cause I got a minor break during work-transportation. They hade a bouquet of hornbeam (no.: agnbøk, lat.: Carpinus Betulus)The same evening I started the separation process and ended up with 10 individuals. 3 of them ended in separate pots. They will be pruned and shaped later this summer, but 7 of the smallest was grouped into a forest. I was to eager to take pictures during the process. But I promise to take som pictures when I inspect the roots next may(2010).

brown spots on my birch

I have 3 birches, and one by one got theese brown spots on the leaves. Is it to much fertilizer, to hot sun (not likely in Stavanger), or is it the bug spray I used som days ago? If someone knows I will very grateful for a comment in this blog.

easter yamadori

As allways, when I'm in a forest, I look for threes that has a bonsai potential. This year I came out with seven threes. 4 pines, 2 oaks an 1 birch. First thing is to see if they survive my brutal treatment. If they do, I start working on them. I also had to cut drastically on the oaks' length before I got them inside the car.

acer on sale, lucky me...

Last autumn I got my hands on this acer with a interesting trunk. I hope it survive, and it seems to do so. To make it live in this pot I had to do some drastically root-reduction. (click on images and see the trunk details). More pictures will follow, if it survives...

2y old Acer

This is an acer I bought to learn to pinch leaves from Acer. A nice skill to know for later projects. But it grows fast, so it keeps me busy. (If you click on the image, you will see more of whats comming)

Update on juniperus

It did well last summer. Great growth during the whole summer. Need a new pot, and I will fix that soon.
